No Letting Go

Sometimes, you do stupid things.

Sometimes, you look back on them and laugh. Other times, you smile sadly.

Last week was of the latter kind. The hardest part of it was when I realized I pushed away the one girl that meant the most to me and made her cry her heart out. In the aftermath, like a icy cold bucket of water, I got doused with reality, and it became clear I've shattered my promises, especially the one about not hurting her. When I did try it on my own, I got stuck in one place, unable to move on since I've insanely clipped my own wings. There was nowhere else to go but back because I'll never be able to take one step forward or go any further without her. I'll never be whole, and it will always feel like I left a huge chunk of me behind.

And as I came crawling, despite all the idiocy... all the craziness that I've brought into our relationship, it finally dawned on me that I'm in way too deep and that there's no letting go. It's a miracle that she took me again and gave me another chance.

So yeah, there will always be storms.


It's been a rollercoaster ride, actually. It's got its ups and downs. But the only thing to remember is to do is hold on and enjoy the ride because I got in it together with Tabby right from the start.

And I don't just mean during the beginning of the ride, but at the gates of the park.

 Short post. Not feeling well and really really sneezy.

Commentaries and Shirts

Ehem.

So it's commentary day.

Every once in a while, I always catch discussions of Second Life alts, whether it be inworld or forums or in other social sites. Some would use these alts as store bots, or to create another character in RP, or to have another account for business transactions, or to have more group space, or as other means for anonymity purposes. Others, however, use them in a more negative way such as griefing or gift spamming (Just recently, I had an encounter with the latter kind of alt in one of the establishments I work in. Always does the same thing and gives out that same suspicious "gift." )

Personally, I have no alts, and I won't really care if people have them or not. I only have one account for the reason that I don't have time to bother with another one. That and because I forget passwords easily (I am terribly absentminded). I did have acquaintances, however, that would ask me to log in their accounts to check for some stuff or do a favor (e.g. check their inv, vote for someone, etc.).

Previously in SL (although I'm not sure if until now it still exists), other avatars can "determine" other people's alts through their IP addresses, which I think was a whole load of bull. For one, not everyone in the metaverse has a personal computer. I am familiar that, in most countries, computer rentals are popular and anyone can use computers for certain fees for the time spent in using them. Computer rental places are business establishments open to the public, and share only one IP address --- the owner's.

Secondly, some personal computers are not "personal" at all. Some would be shared in the household or with friends; Some people's net connections would be shared too, as in the case of portable modems or wi-fi connections.

Though some would say that they can determine alts through style of chatting and the use of symbols and syntax, and although it carries a huge percent of being right, it still is not very conclusive.

I can understand the paranoia that some people would undergo regarding alts due to some bad experience that had previously happened to them or what; frankly, however, I think it's all silly to let one bad apple ruin your experience. Loosen up. Enjoy. Live.

What if that person you were so caught up with never bothered you again? Would you continue to be paranoid for the rest of your life? I mean, it's good you're cautious, but often I find some people's reactions hilarious.

One case in point that stands out would be that chick in Facebook that I greeted "Happy Birthday" way back before. (Hey, it's not everyday you survive a year in this crazy planet, so I usually greet people to be polite.) I forgot her name, but the conversation more or less was like this:

Me: Happy Birthday!
Chick: Whose alt are you?!
Me:... huh? o.0

Yeah...

It was funny, but in a way, kinda sad too.

So, here's to all of you, alts or not! You'll find life would be so much better if you don't give a fork. \m/

Just A Quick Post

Of Gor

Earlier this week, I had been recommended and accepted into Metaverse Tribune as one of their writers (SL Sports) and also had been placed in the Editor-In-Chief position for OI magazine, respectively. Both are huge honors but comes with it are responsibilities that I think are going to put more pressure on both SL and RL. I will try to do my best to juggle everything accordingly especially since I work for 4 other publications, handle a managerial position at DS, and maintain a blog. The 16 hours of RL work to do 6 days a week takes its toll too. So, if I'll do things inch by inch at a time, I do apologize for moving at a slow pace. However, I am very excited that I did get in to those positions. I can't wait to get rolling, and as soon as I do some organizing (Tabby doesn't want me to get a secretary or an assistant), I'll get things running smoothly.

For now, check out Egoisme's Gorean Master throne. It has 7 master animations and 15 slave ones. Also, this might be a little late, but check out ICON magazine's September issue. I wrote there about City of Temos, an RP Gor sim. If you might notice at the 5th paragraph, it can get a bit confusing. That's because it was my fault. I went way past the word limit, and my editor has to cut off some of it, including deleting accidentally the quotation marks.

Sorry about that. *sheepish look*
